New Quilt

This is the quilt I started...It is called Flip Side, by Rachel Griffith.
Her site is called psiquilt. Love her site. The fabric is called
Central Park. So here are the blocks all assembled, although
they are not exactly in the right positions yet. This always
takes some fun moving around. Steven always teases me with
how many times I can move a block around, as to not be next
to the same fabric.

Then here it is with all the sashings sewn on. Aaahhh. It is
at the quilters right now. Can't wait to see the results!
The first weekend in March we had our annual Cavalcade Duet Recital.
Another great year. Kinsie, Hunter, Ashleigh, and Ginger performed.
This was Kinsie's last year. Everyone's group sounded wonderful. Of
course they are all glad it is over. Bracken started piano lessons in January,
and I can't wait for him to play next year for his first year. :)

BIRTHDAY SKIRT

Here is cute little skirt I made from her birthday fabric. This is the
little ruffle at the bottom, which I love.
The whole finished skirt. I love how it turned out.

ASHLEIGH'S 12TH BIRTHDAY!

Ashleigh has amazingly turned 12! Wow, great things
happen when you turn 12. First thing, we went
to get her ears pierced. (cause that's what you
do at that age in our family) :) Then we went
shopping and went to lunch. We had a great
time. For dinner we celebrated with Tostados,
and Mattas salsa...YUM! Then finished off
with cheesecake. So delicious! She raked in
the gifts like usual. Steven went shopping
also, and was so excited to get her the game
Scrabble flash. It is a fun game. You have to
be very quick. Ashleigh is really good. Steven
and Ginger, not so fast.
She started to attend mutual on Wed. nights
and just loves it. They started talking about
girls camp. It is ward camp this year, and they
are going to a leaders cabin in Payson. I think this
is the year I should volunteer :) It sounds very
comfortable.

the fast spelling game. It sounds easy, but not when you
are racing against the clock

COURT OF HONOR

We had court of Honor this week, and Hunter earned #45 merit badge, Automotive maintenance. He will receive his second Bronze Palm shortly. I'm hoping he will finish 6 more merit badges. That will take him to 51 merit badges and 6 palms. I know that I can't set that goal for him, but I can keep encouraging him like crazy right?! They are in the process of planning the super activity for this summer. Scouting is so great!

BYU Idaho

Stacie received her acceptance letter from BYU Idaho yesterday. Hooray! Now she is awaiting her track assignment. She will be finished with her Associates in May from MCC Red Mountain. She is majoring in Math Education. Yes, this girls likes math, math, and more math. (and the unicycle) She is doing service hours at her high school this semester, with one of her past math teachers, and enjoying it. When we start talking about packing her stuff up when she leaves, she likes to change the subject. I told her everything will change when she leaves, but she isn't ready to hear that yet I guess. We will miss her TONS!

BIRTHDAY TREATS

Today we took in Birthday treats for Ashleigh to share with her school class. She wanted to take CAKE POPS. It just so happened that we had pink candy melts in the pantry so, since that is her favorite color things worked out in her favor. Can't believe she is turning 12. Saying goodbye to Primary and activity days, and saying hello to Young Woman's, mutual, and girls camp. She is pretty excited.

NO MORE CAR SEAT

Davis comes in to me this morning and says, I found my car seat in the garage. I say, do you want to use it in the car? He says, mom why would a 5 year old want to sit in a car seat? I said, I don't know. (Mostly because I was laughing too hard).
