SNOW in MESA

I know I haven't even posted about Christmas yet, however, today, at 1 pm, it was SNOWING in our front yard! I know, those of you in snow country this isn't an exciting news breaking story, because you don't live in Mesa. All of us were out there, basking in the glory of the light snow fall, standing in our shorts and flip flops, going crazy! Pretty monumental day here in Mesa, Dec. 30th, 2010. What a way to end the year.

These pictures probably don't do alot of justice, so You'll just have to take our word for it! :)

DISNEYLAND

For Kinsie's 18th B-day we took her to Disneyland. She took 3 friends and Stacie and I. We arrived Sunday evening. It was raining. It rained all day Monday at Disneyland, and all day Tuesday. Tues. Stacie and Ginger went to Walmart and purchased rainboots and sauna suits. Tues we were dry as could be, under our umbrellas. The great thing about the rain was, the short, short lines. Most the big rides were walk right on or 5-10 minute waits. That part was great. Especially the water rides. No one there. :) What a fun celebration. The phrase we heard most was "It's my Birthday week!" It's hard to believe we have 2 adult children now. For Stacie's birthday, she went to BYU Idaho, Rexburg, and visited her friends, and toured the campus. She is definately excited to go, after 1 more sememster at MCC Red Mnt. She braved the cold, and told us it wasn't too bad. We know better :).

The Larsons all came in town this weekend. We've had a fun time together. We decided we would need to have family pictures, since this doesn't happen very often. The first are of our family then extended family.

COURT OF HONOR

We had court of honor last week. Hunter earned
his metal working mb, his varsity letter, On Target
varsity pin, and his SILVER PALM. Way to go
Hunter. Steven is the varsity coach now, so he still
gets to present him with all his awards.

They had a knot tieing competition:

Hunter's group one 1st place. First with hands
in the air.

RAPPELLING

Hunter's troop went rappelling a couple weeks ago.
He had a great time. The first time he went down
normal. Then he went down face first. Steven
shot a video of it. Pretty fun.

Him and his buddy were competing in the firestarting
competition and took 1st place.

Bliss Quilt

I picked up Bliss from the quilters Monday afternoon. Aaah. I just love all the big swirls and cuteness.
I started sewing the binding on Monday night. I finished it Wed. morning. I would sit in the livingroom
and turn the piano on to my Christmas music, and sew. How nice is that. Here are the finished
pictures.

FUNERAL

I received a phone call Monday morning from my Mom, telling me that my Uncle Merwin had passed away. (my Mom's brother). The funeral was Sat. Oct. 30th, in Utah. So Steven & I drove up Friday to Lindon Utah. Went to the funeral Sat. morning in Sandy, and drove home Sunday morning. It was such an amazing funeral. The spirit was felt in abundance. I played Love One Another for a special number. It was a beautiful arrangement, and it went well. My cousins sang two of Merwin's favorites, Away in the Manger, and Silent Night. They sing so beautifully together. My Aunt Linda gave such a wonderful talk along with her husband (my Uncle) Willard.

Later that night, we decided we would go visit some great friends from our early married days in Orem. We showed up surprising them, and were treated with the most delicious Clam Chowder Soup. It was so fun to visit, chat, and laugh with them. What a fun night.
